Optimize the energy consumption of  base-station, ensure safe operation and reliability/management of power distribution

Through the implementation of a powerful intelligent power terminal system(Intelligent recloser, intelligent air circuit breaker ammeter in Internet of Things), ensure safety for electricity use and risk-free operation of data center & communication base station, improve the stability of communication base station distribution system.

Project Background

Yuhua district near the west of Liuyang River downstream, with abundant rainfall, rain and heat over the same period, four distinct seasons, longitude: 113.63, latitude: 28.15; the landform is hilly and mountainous. The number of thunderstorm days in the region was 49.5, according to the classification of thunderstorm day can be divided into multiple minefields, thunderstorm season the power cuts out due to thunder. The base station is located in a mountainous area with humid air.

 

The base station is located in a half hillside, the engine room is under the tower, the transformer is down the hill. The low-voltage cable enters the machine room along the hillside, power supply is of three types. Power failure accidents caused by voltage fluctuation and power supply quality, which affect communication quality and require a large amount of operation and maintenance costs.

 

Now, the base station ac distribution box is equipped with multi-circuit ac metering intelligent ammeter device and circuit breaker, to measure ac input and output sub-circuits, and to protect circuit from short-circuit and overload. 

 

As the measurement data of traditional electricity meters are not uploaded, the power consumption of base stations cannot be known timely;traditional circuit breakers must be manually reset after the circuit breaks down; the reason of  trip-out was’t clear; and the circuit breaker is difficult to achieve upper and lower selective protection; fault current was bigger, which was  easy to cause the instantaneous disconnection of the upper and lower level circuit breakers
