In practice, the devices can be very different.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One breaker may only report its open or closed status. Another may also measure energy, accept remote commands, store fault records, or support automatic reclosing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The word &#8220;Modbus&#8221; tells you how a device communicates. It does not tell you everything the breaker can do.
